Via Ferrata Construction and Switch Installation

30/03/2020

Three years ago, when we pulled the scraper winch, which had been submerged 25 meters below the level of the Václav Gallery for nearly 50 years, it didn't look like it would ever work again. After removing a massive layer of rust, we managed to disassemble and gradually clean the internals, which now look as though they just came off the production line. Once reassembled, we still need to find a suitable location for its installation and operation.

We have initiated the next phase of installing ladders to the High Intermediate Level. The ladders, equipped with protective baskets, are being gradually hoisted into place and anchored to the rock. The "Trough" excavation offers breathtaking views, which we hope to soon showcase to physically able visitors thanks to the ČEZ Foundation. With ferrata protection, it will eventually be possible to climb 70 meters above the level of the Václav Gallery, and possibly even higher.

We also continued with work around the switch at the Klobáské Veins. We still need to bend two rails, add two more, and properly install the sleepers.
