Mining Activities at the Pepř Mine

Underground mining activities are carried out in the Pepř Mine, and compliance with operational documentation and following the instructions of our guides is essential. For more detailed information, you can contact us at the provided email address, and we will respond either via email or by phone if you leave us your number.

The maximum number of people per group is 24. The total length of the basic tour circuit is 4 km, and the tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours. Visitors are required to pay a fee that covers the costs of the tour. Children aged 6 and above are allowed to enter but must remain under the constant supervision of a parent. Any potential physical limitations of visitors must be discussed in advance. The temperature in the mine is around 11°C, and there may be strong drafts in certain areas. Due to the smaller profile of some tunnels, clothing may become dirty. Suitable footwear includes either rubber boots or sturdy hiking shoes, and clothing must have long sleeves (for safety reasons, visitors wearing short sleeves, sandals, or Crocs will not be permitted entry). All other protective gear, such as helmets and lamps, will be provided.

Visitor Regulations

The following visitor regulations apply to the operation of the Václav Mine and adjacent mining works. These rules are mandatory for all visitors entering the underground area.

  1. Entry to the Václav Mine is permitted only for persons accompanied by a guide, in good health, and along designated routes.
  2. Entry is allowed only with protective helmets, lamps, suitable footwear (boots), and appropriate clothing for the mine environment.
  3. All visitors must strictly follow the instructions of the professional guide or the mine foreman.

  8. All visitors must obey the instructions of the locomotive driver or conductor.
  9. Everyone entering the underground area must be familiar with the "Pepř Mine Emergency Plan" and "Operational and Transport Rules for the Mine Narrow-Gauge Railway" as applicable.

The mine foreman is responsible for any matters not covered in these visitor rules, and their decisions are final and binding for all.
